Precision Physics Services was formed in 2000 and has provided medical physics services to free standing and hospital based cancer centers in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. The primary responsibilities are routine quality assurance checks and patient related checks in the outpatient cancer center. The company also has performed medical linear accelerator commissioning, CT simulator commissioning and QA, LDR and HDR brachytherapy support as well as radiological safety and survey and shielding design and verification.

Dr. Castro is a graduate of the West Virginia University and is Board Certified in Therapeutic Radiological Physics. He supervises all aspects of clinical physics support and quality assurance for patient treatment and medical linear accelerators. His areas of expertise include HDR brachytherapy, Prostate seed (LDR) brachytherapy, IMRT, and 3D CRT treatment planning with Corvus, Pinnacle, and Eclipse planning systems. Dr. Castro has developed the physics quality assurance programs for the Lebanon Valley Cancer Center, and established physics programs leading to American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) accreditation for cancer centers in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He is the Radiation Safety Officer at the Lebanon Valley Cancer Center and has been in clinical practice for 20 years.
Dr. Castro and his wife of 25 years, Marcy, have three children. In his spare time, he enjoys reading historical biographies, playing ice hockey, and coaching his youngest son's Little League baseball team.
